Essene Blessing

As the richness of my life brings peace to my soul,
so do I actively share this peace with all.

Peace to those I love,
Peace to those who trouble me,
Peace to those I fear,
Peace to beings far and near,

For it is I who chain
the Dove of Peace,
Or I who let it fly.

From "The Essene Book of Meditations and Blessings", by Danaan Perry. The Essenes were a group of predominantly Jewish mystics who practised together about two thousand years ago. Their numbers probably included such prominent Christian figures as John the Baptist and, some say, Jesus himself.
