Aspiration Prayers
Aspiration
May this day be used for awakening -
for kindness, for peace, and for love.
May I remember to ask for guidance from the spirit helpers.
May I welcome all 'problems' as desirable,
as opportunities for deepening the practice of the paramis.
May I remember that whether I like or dislike a person or a situation
depends entirely on the mental formations I am used to calling 'me' and
'mine'.
Remember the lotus unfolding!
May I see any illness that arises as an invitation to practice
and thus as a source of joy.
May I remember that the greater part of each of us
is light, spacious and already free of troubled feelings.
May my actions never be separate from the needs of others.
May I ever find better ways to practice dana, sila and ksanti.
May the Buddha mind of presence be here in all I do this day.

Aspiration
May we never be without teachers
May we never be without Teaching
May we always walk with sureness and compassion so that
We may never be without a doorway to Wisdom.

Aspiration
May I have quiet body today
When the impulse comes to rush away
Remind myself to stop and check
To scan the world within --
for just a sec.
May I have quiet speech today
when I find the perfect thing to say
Hold my tongue for a little time
And let another speak
the witty line.
May I have quiet mind today
When plots and plans begin to play
When gusts of fear and anger blow
May I breathe in and out --
and let it go.

Aspiration
I aspire to develop a compassionate awareness of the interconnectedness of life at all times.
I aspire to be more able to see the teacher in all those around me.
