Medicine Buddha online discussion group Meaning of Medicine Buddha Mantra I also tried to find a translation of the short mantra and finally put together the following abbreviated from different sources. TAYATHA "like this" OM This is composed of three sounds Ah, Uu and Ma, which refer to our own body, speech and mind. Which, gets transformed into Medicine Buddhaâs pure body, speech and mind. BEKENDZE Bekendze means eliminating pain, or healing. The first bekendze removes problems of body and mind, including sickness and old age. BEKENDZE The second bekendze removes the causes of suffering, which is greed, hatred and delusion. Effects of karma and disturbing thoughts are eliminated. MAHA BEKENDZE the great eliminating, the great healing. This is the clearing of even subtle defilements. RADZA King as in Menla is the King of Healers. SAMUDGATE Path to enlightenment.
