Software for Internet Teachings To access FOH Internet Teachings you need a computer with an internet connection of at least 28.8 Kbps. You also need audio software that will play .rm and .ram files. You can use the standard commercial RealOne player or an alternative. It is available as shareware on the net. IMPORTANT: Please install and test this software in advance! You don't want to spend the first part of the class tinkering with glitches! RealOne Player RealOne player is program that allows you to access an audio & video signal in .rm format. If you do not already have RealOne player, click here and a new window will come up connecting you to the BBC who has a less obnoxious version of RealOne available.
We do not begin netcasting the FOH teaching until the scheduled time, however you can
test your RealOne player software any time by clicking here.
This connects you with the Ryerson University radio station, "spirit live".
If you get a blank page with some gobbledegook on it, try opening RealOne player on your computer and pasting or typing the following address in the "Location" box:
Chat room on Website Using the chat room is not strictly necessary, but we recommend it strongly as it will allow you to submit questions during the netcast. It will also allow you to get help from our technical people if you have problems accessing the netcast. This is a single room chat site that at present does not require password access (to come). We can communicate on line via keyboard in realtime. How do I get on the Chat Room? To access the chat room, go to www.friendsoftheheart.com/Chat/phpMyChat.php3. Mac users need to change their internet browser to Internet Explorer (latest version is 5.1 /5.2), which is available from www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=5 .
For first time access, click on "Register". This will pop-up a new window, with a registration form. If you have "Pop-up Stopper" or a similar program that blocks pop-up windows, this needs to be disabled. Unfortunately, this chat program & others, sometimes has problems with data sent to & from Mac computers. Please try several times to connect.
