T'ai Chi is a gentle series of movements that helps balance one's physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. As a moving meditation, it is a wonderful adjunct to sitting meditation. This winter we will be combining an introductory class, with a focus on the first stage of the form, and, for those students who completed the first stage last year, we will begin work on the second stage of the form. Members and friends of Friends of the Heart are welcome to join us for a one-day retreat at FOH on Yonge Street with continuous heart-centred meditation sits from 9am to 9pm. Come for the whole day, or as many hours as you can manage. For this retreat, there is no registration fee, rather donations will be accepted on behalf of charities that FOH has been supporting through this annual event for many years: 416 Drop-in Centre in Toronto, a nunnery in Tibet, and the FOH bursary fund that supports students who need help with retreat costs. The first $1000 of donatins will be matched by an anonymous donor. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated by these wonderful centres who share the goal of helping people to heal their hearts.
