Tibetan Meditation Practice

NEW!!  Sunday mornings.  10:00am to noon.

Begins September 20, 2009

Curious about Tibetan meditation practices and don't know where to start? Are you practicing Tibetan work and want to deepen your understanding from a Western perspective? This ongoing class in Tibetan practices introduces and deepens students' knowledge of this excellent system of mind training and healing.   Tibetan practice uses visualization and mantra as part of meditation and emphasizes a compassionate heart.

Using humour and group discussion, together we learn how to make these practices relevant to us in our daily lives. All practice is conducted in English.

Classes taught by David Liang or senior students, or by FOH founder Catherine Jetsun Yeshe when she is in town.  Class usually consists of meditation on the breath/body,and teaching, followed by Chenrezig or White Tara practice, and discussion.

Suggested Text:  Clear Heart/Open Mind, Catherine Rathbun (Jetsun-Yeshe)

Available though this link: Books and Tapes

New!! View short videos of FOH founder Catherine Jetsun Yeshe where she discusses the history and philosophy of FOH a well as the first Noble Truth:  equanimity.

Occasionally special classes with Catherine Jetsun Yeshe are held that may include initations into various Tibetan practices.  For example:

The purification practice of Vajrasattva is perhaps the most difficult part of Foundation practice, as it raises and purifies our primary blockades.  It does so in an almost invisible way, so we may mistake what is going on.  Jetsun-ma oriented a special class to helping us decipher how to work with this wondrous practice.  Because if we persevere, the practice becomes lucidly beautiful and a source of strong linkage to Vajradhara, the original face of the Enlightenment principle.
